Style Guide to Women's Streetwear Fashion

· fashion,clothing,streetwear,hip hop

Streetwear fashion is comfortable, cool, and so diverse. It's one of the most popular ways of dressing nowadays, but it has been around in one form or another for many decades now.

Deeply rooted in hip hop, streetwear takes notes from hip hop clothing and translates into a stand-alone style that is more diverse and allows for a lot of changes to be made, especially when it comes to women.

Some of the basic rules apply, the baggy pants and tight tops, the jewellery, and special kinds of footwear and accessories, they're all still present, but have a little modern twist to them, according to the times and other fashion trends that have been popular in the past.

This article will be a simple guide to streetwear fashion for women who want to look cool, but also want to express themselves in the process. There are many places you can buy streetwear or hip hop style clothing for women, but some are better than others.

The key, no matter if it's urban wear or something else, is to buy quality-made clothing that will last you a long time, will be comfortable, and will be easy to maintain. The same goes for your accessories and shoes. No matter how laid-back the style is, the make shouldn't follow suit.

On the contrary, it's supposed to be seriously planned out and stitched to perfection to allow you to chill out in it and really give the laid-back impression you want to give. Now that we have that cleared up, let's dive into the specific items you'll need to make this style happen!

hip hop style clothing for women

Clothing

As I already said, hip hop style clothing for women is all about free-flowing items, interesting cuts, eye-catching matches, and so on.

When it comes to the base of it, or the clothing, there are a bunch of items you're going to need to style yourself to perfection and put a personal touch to all the outfits you wear.

Let's start with bottoms.

You'll need a couple of pairs of shorts. You can get away with tight-fitting, tights-like shorts as well as pairs that are baggier and made of different materials, such as jeans. Then, you'll need a bunch of pants and jeans, as well as trackpants, leggings, and cargo pants. These will set a nice stage for the other items to come.

For tops, you can get long and short-sleeved shirts as well as spaghetti-strapped tanks. All of these can be regular or cropped. You'll also need a bunch of hoodies and flannels you can wear on top of everything. The tops can be as baggy or as tight-fitting as you like, depending on your mood, body, comfort, and so on.

The great thing about women's streetwear is that it lets you choose which items you want to wear instead of dictating a fashion sense that might not be truly yours. Don't be afraid to experiment with size, cuts, fits, and patterns and create your very own, original combinations.

White sneakers

Footwear

Sneakers are the alpha and omega of womens urban fashion, so you'll need a couple of pairs of them to make sure you have one for each possible situation.

For starters, you have a choice between high and low top sneakers. Depending on your likes you can go with either of these or just choose one. The brand doesn't really play a huge part. You can go for a nice pair of Chucks or a Puma Suede with a colourful design. Again, you have a lot of options here.

One staple footwear item is the white sneaker, however, and you'll need to have at least one pair of them lying around. White sneakers are really universal and they can match with so many outfits, so having them around will really make combining different pieces together much easier.

You can opt for a popular Nike white low top or a New Balance pair of white sneakers. Just make sure they're the right fit and are comfortable. Also remember that skirts, especially mini skirts, are something you can also wear, so choose your shoes accordingly.

You'll also need a pair of urban boots for the colder months and some nice, sleek outdoor slippers, like the very famous Addidas ones, to wear in the summer.

Streetwear women accessories

Accessories

To wrap everything up you'll need a bunch of accessories. Street wear for women allows a lot of room to play with accessories and additions so this is really an all-you kind of thing.

You can start by getting hats, caps, and beanies you like for each season. Then, you can choose different styles of bags, from over-the-shoulder ones to backpacks, both big and small. You're going to be carrying many things around, as we girls usually do, so make sure you always have an option that will fit everything you need to take with you comfortably.

You'll also need a bunch of jewellery. Things like rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings in different styles and colours will do wonders for all your outfits. Still, make sure you're not getting anything that's too fancy as it just won't fit with the whole vibe you're going for.

Finally, choose some nice socks. Don't skip on the ankle-high white socks which are just as much a classic as the white sneakers are, but also make sure you have different styles and patterns in your closet as well, so you're able to make those unique combinations I keep talking about. Socks might not seem like a big deal, but they can really make or break an outfit and they've become very popular lately among all styles of dressing.

Remember to always build your closet slowly and carefully and pay the same attention to the matches you make. Imagine the different situations you'll need to be dressing for and make sure to have at least a couple of pieces for each. Also, don't forget the fluidity of streetwear items and how they can be used for both day and night combinations.

The moral of the story? Let yourself experiment and have fun with your wardrobe! It's what womens streetwear is all about!
