Things to Consider When on the Hunt for a Portable Wireless Speaker

· Technology

Speakers were initially made to transform how music sounds to a greater level but in today's technological swimming pool of different speaker types is almost impossible not to get confused by all the terminology and advantages every single one of them has over the other. Portable wireless speakers have single-handedly changed the way we carry around music and it has also used part of the initial idea for the sound of music to be greater than the music itself. Simply getting the most mainstream type of portable speaker can be a good choice for some but if you want to get the most out of your speaker, you need to have some of these things in mind to help you decide easier.

Connectivity

Bluetooth is a standard in wireless connection when it comes to speakers. While there are other types of speaker connectivity like NFC and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth is overall a better option over the two when you want to play music directly from your phone library. Here, NFC is not used as much, as it is very really limited in both its range and compatibility, hence the name Near Field Communications (NFC). Speaker portable wireless, are the three words best represented by Wi-Fi. Whether it is the features or the vast range of connection speeds it offers, Wi-Fi allows you to stream music directly from Youtube or other similar online services. It also offers a greater resolution in audio transmission than Bluetooth and no interruption by phone notifications.

Durability & Ruggedness

Depending on the environment you are going to use a speaker the most, a level of ruggedness will need to be implemented for the longevity and durability of the device. Most portable speakers will have a standard plastic body which isn't that bad but it can affect performance over time. If you are planning to bring your speaker to the beach or even use it near the pool, look for thermos-like speakers meant for outdoor use and waterproof speakers that have an IP-67 or IP-68 rating. The most rugged speakers will be made out of armour and metal but they are not always going to be water-tight.

Not only is a speaker portable wireless and waterproof, but it can also come with a variety of high-tech features. Integrations of Amazon's Alexa and Google's own voice assistant will allow you to access weather and sports information just by talking to the speaker. This probably sounds like some ramblings of a mad man, but it is true, - the smart assistants that are in our phones can be integrated right into our speakers. A lot of smart speakers today have the option for you to stream your favourite playlist from streaming services like Spotify, Tidal, and Pandora.
